DAY & HALF DAY SESSIONS -  Hill House Christian Centre offer the following activities for half day or full day sessions.


We’re going on a bear hunt...   Reception, Yr 1 & 2

We’re going on a Bear Hunt is a two hour outdoor activity which includes a hands-on nature trail, storytimes, crafts and indoor refreshments.

At the end of the bear hunt children will have:

• Listened and responded to a story
• Experienced a healthy walk in the outdoors
• Expressed their experiences through art and play

Sample programme


9.45am:    Arrive
                Toilets and outdoor clothes check
10.00am:  Bear hunt in the grounds of Hill House (and if we’re really quiet what might we see...                   a squirrel, a rabbit, a fox or a soaring buzzard!)
11.00am:  Warm chocolate and a bear biscuit
11.15am:  Toilet stop!
11.30am:  Nature’s Art...Make a bear from ‘bits and pieces’ collected on the walk
11.45am:  Bye Bye

Team Building & Archery Sessions

Indoor and outdoor challenges for Keystage 2

If you want your pupils to develop confidence and independence an activity day at Hill House is for you.

A whole variety of team building games / challenges will provide an opportunity for pupils to develop personal and social skills, particularly in listening & communication, leadership & working together whilst having a great deal of fun!

Are your pupils up for the challenge to: find their way through the darkened Maze, rescue the whole team from the Titanic, cross the Raging River, complete the blindfold water walk, transport the nuclear device from its current position to the safe holding zone, team ski around the slalom course, build a Wigwam and Royal Throne, and much, much more.

Archery – your pupils chance to be Maid Marion or Robin Hood, through a variety of scoring games.

Survival Skills - Keystage 2

 

What would we need in a survival situation? Food, Water, Fire & Shelter

 

A mini survival day designed to help pupils think about what they might need if they were ever in a survival situation.  They will build a water filter, find wild plants for food, collect materials and build a fire and then construct a mini shelter.

Nature Sessions Key stage 2

Discover nature on your doorstep!

There will be a variety of activities which will allow pupils to get hands on with nature.  These include:
• Sensory walk or Nature Colour Chart walk

• Scavenger Hunt
• Mini Beast Safari
• Creative Writing
• Insect Stamper Trail
• Creative Storytelling
• Food Web Games

 

 

At the end of the session pupils will have been able to:
• Think creatively and independently
• Apply critical thinking in a new context
• Pursue a healthy lifestyle
• Assess risk and take informed decisions
